To Mr. Orville Reddenbacher
I got tricked into buying your new Natural microwave popcorn in a mini-bag. The popcorn is really good and tasty, but I had a big letdown when I first unfolded the bag and there was only one fold, not the two that I’m used to when I unfold microwave popcorn. So now there is this tiny little bag of popcorn that a hungry person like me cannot justify on its own. That means making another bag of popcorn in a mini-bag to go with it just to get the serving I wanted to start with.
When you add to this the double application of hot sauce which I am always inclined to apply on popcorn, the time savings that I expect to achieve by using microwave popcorn is eliminated. Although I will say that my microwave is pretty badass in that it can tell when popcorn is ready to take out and turns itself off. I’m not sure how this happens–maybe there is a little microphone in there that measures the time between pops and stops it when it reaches one second as instructed on the bag.
Anyway, I like your products, and the old commercials with you are pretty sweet. Now that I think about it, I guess since you aren’t in them anymore you may be dead or have your grandkids running the business now. That would explain why they had the idea of the mini-bag of popcorn because I’ve noticed that young people these days have a problem with respecting traditions and grandparents authority. I hope they don’t have you confined up somewhere keeping you out of the commercials and you really want to be in them. But maybe you are old now either way and couldn’t do the commercials good like they were before. I guess we’ll never know for sure if the secret doesn’t get out.
If you can do something about the min-bags I would appreciate it. I mean, now that I know about them I’ll check out the box and make sure I’m going to get an adult serving before I even buy it, but other people may get burned by this sneaky method of selling and I don’t want your good name slandered by otherwise nice people who think they are getting tricked.
