For the first thing, I only watched this show in the beginning because I got confused on the whole John Adams vs. John Stewart thing. Although I wondered why HBO would have a show with John Stewart called The John Stewart show when John Stewart is already on a different channel called Comedy Central with the name of The Daily Show. But they have guys who make a lot of money to make those kinds of decisions, so you just never know. And I’m sure you can imagine the surprise I had when I saw the first 10 minutes and none of it was funny.

But then I thought that a possible show of good education could be another enhancement for me so I went ahead with deciding to watch it. For the most part I like it. It’s nice to have a chance to learn the history of our country without reading about it and taking tests. On the other hand, the way people talked back then is very hard to understand because unless they are talking about overthrowing the British or French governments they are mostly whispering. About war and stuff they yell at each other and I can hear it.

I also think they should have gotten somebody to play John Adams who has a Boston accent or could at least fake it good. Maybe Marky Mark or Ben Afflec or Matt Damon or Leonardo DiCaprio would have been a better choice than a British guy that is playing him currently. I thought the accents those actors did in Good Will Hunting and The Departed were pretty good. I will go ahead and admit that I have never gone to Boston to hear the accent my self, but I also didn’t hear about any people in Boston getting mad at those guys for messing up the accent, so it must be a pretty good job.

So the show is really good all in all, but I haven’t got to see the last version yet. Maybe tonight or tomorrow I can watch it because it is on the Tivo, but I also have to squeeze in watching Lost again. If you like history and revolutions, you would probably enjoy watching The John Adams show on HBO. Just don’t expect to laugh like The Daily Show will make you laugh.

The last episode was the best, with some nice bare titty for those of us who suffered through the long, boring mini-series.

I bet they wanted to do it on Thomas Jefferson but it would be twice as long because of his many interests and still no titties to be had.
